This position’s main focus will be automotive and aftermarket clients. In this role we are looking for a social media and communications candidate with press release writing experience, social media hosting and organizational skills. You will need to understand the social media & communications landscape and be able to demonstrate experience within the automotive industry.

We are looking for a Rockstar candidate who can excel and have fun in a fast-paced environment, be reliable and work well in a team.

Essential Skills Include:

  • Excellent news writing skills with an understanding of automotive subjects and technology

  • Command of the social media landscape and experience at scheduling posts, writing captions, etc.

  • An assertive, pro-active approach towards communications and media relations

About the Position:

  • Write automotive press materials including press releases, news alerts, spec sheets, newsletters, etc.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of collateral - including articles, presentations, proposals and reports

  • Implementation and management of calendars

  • Organization and execution of client events such as product launches and regional media events

  • Maintain/establish automotive media relationships

  • Develop a strong working relationship with the client and represent the agency in client meetings

  • Assist in tracking media coverage and PR metrics

  • Contribute to key accounts at ID Agency

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of social media platforms, editorial writing, public and media relations, and trends

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, self-sufficiency and a proactive attitude

  • Experience in a social media  role or similar position

  • Understand communication strategy  and marketing concepts and practices

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Willingness to follow and seek industry trends and current methods

This position is in our Los Angeles office. We are looking for a local candidate, no relocation expenses are offered

Social Media Specialist

Company Overview:

The ID Agency, a leading marketing communications agency in the Los Angeles, is seeking a Social Media professional with automotive experience to work with our team in the Los Angeles Office, the birthplace of contemporary automotive trends. Our client roster includes leading brands from automotive, sports and technology.

The position will work across agency brands and publishing platforms and will be coordinating with account directors on cross-brand news and promotions. Additionally, this position will work closely with directors and senior agency team members.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and execution of social programs to build our client communities and drive engagement.

  • Cultivate and interact with the client communities to drive deeper engagement

  •  Leverage brand communities’ social circles to drive brand awareness in order to attract new audiences.

  • Create a daily social editorial and promotional calendar, and draft and schedule social posts.

  • Drive cross-promotion of agency and client brands social content across all relevant social channels: client’s editorial social channels, talent’s social channels, and relevant partners’ social channels.

  •  Post relevant client content to provide added value to the community and broaden their awareness.

  • Social channels include Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc.

Create unique content and promotions.

  • Concept and execute ideas, in conjunction with the Agency teams, on how to engage the client communities and prospective audiences

  • Develop and execute special campaigns to promote new shows, programming stunts, and events.

  • Develop and launch special promotions such as contests, etc. to keep the communities engaged and provide added value.

Build reciprocal social media relationships with partners and influencers.

  • Drive promotion of client content in our in partners’ social outreach.

  • Identify, monitor, follow, and post comments on external influencer sites/social channels, where appropriate, with the goal of expanding agency social footprint.

Assist with marketing campaign development and management.

  • Assist in creation and execution of all marketing campaigns.

  • Manage additional community engagement across other channels/platforms as necessary.

  • Provide additional interdepartmental support, as necessary, for client campaigns and live events related to Agency.

Best Practices.

  • Keep up to date on the latest trends and changes in social media as well as new practices for optimizing the effectiveness of the platforms.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.

  • 2-3 years of experience project managing video-driven campaigns across social and digital teams.

  • Deep knowledge of the digital landscape, understanding how video formats and creative performs across different social platforms and digital destinations.

  • Familiar with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube.

  • Demonstrable experience delivering high volume of accurate content under tight deadlines.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in Social Media.

  • Maintain excellent writing and language skills with a strong writing capability of shifting styles to reflect content and/or individual brands.

  • Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.; and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.

  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video formats.

  • Ability to be a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary.

  • Good technical understanding and ability to pick up new tools quickly.

  • Exceptional time management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Shows a high degree of self-motivation and works well within a fun, collaborative team environment.
