RECARO Visits XGames

XGames has officially moved on from Los Angeles and will soon be headed to Austin, Texas early next year. We had quite the week with RECARO coming out to visit as we prepared for media days with Ford and Subaru at CA Speedway Wednesday and Thursday before finally making our way over to Irwindale Speedway on Friday for Gymkhana practice and two main events on both Saturday and Sunday. It was a good thing we showed up on Wednesday as Subaru was missing a set of side mounts that were crucial for putting another RECARO seat in the car allowing for the media to take a spin with pro drivers Bucky Lasek, Dave Mirra and Sverre Isachasen. We called upon our good friends and RECARO authorized dealer, BBi Autosport, to come to the rescue and get the needed side mounts.

The media days at CA Speedway were a success for our client and drivers.  The VP of RECARO North and South America,              Mr. Markus Kussmaul, was given an extremely behind the scenes glimpse at what a rally driver's life is like when we got Tanner Foust to give him a ride during practice sessions and we told Tanner to go 110%. Markus was excited to get to try out the seats and his response after getting thrown around at over 100 miles per hour was, 'I didn't even think about the seats. I guess that is a good thing when your thoughts are about the driving and you don't have to worry about your body moving in our seats.'

Gymkhana Grid went down on Saturday at Irwindale Speedway with a sold out stadium. As the lights turned on and crowds stood up from the grandstands the drivers did a wonderful job and brought some fierce competition to the first ever Gymkhana Grid in XGames history. That night Tanner Foust went home with the gold.

Sunday's GRC event was another sold out event and if you happened to catch it on TV you'd know it was a race that could not be missed. With parts flying off cars, Ken Block's tire coming off as he continued driving around the track, epic crashes and debris all over the course that Tanner Foust had to plow through to keep his racing line clean as others followed along and team mates Dave Mirra and Bucky Lasek crashed into each other from a hair pin turn. It was quite an exciting race! Toomas Heikkinen took home gold while Tanner placed second and third place went to Sverre Isachsen.

We had plenty of time to catch up with drivers and team owners over the week and make plans for SEMA and 2014 racing season that's just around the corner so stay tuned on what RECARO will be doing to personalize some of your favorite drivers seats and we hope to see you at SEMA!
